Nothing Entertains Like A Classic Movie

Whenever we want to escape from the harsh reality of life or just need to be transported into some magical world, movies provide that portal that takes us into another dimension. Whether we crave glamour, glitz,  romance or something more gritty and action packed, the big screen is always there, drawing us in, following the yellow brick road to the Emerald City or fighting with a light saber.

We all have our favorites - the movies we can watch time and again. Some of these are old movies, such as Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca.  Many of these movies were released in or before the 1940s and are still entertaining audiences all over the world.  Many of these films are considered classics because they've stood the test of time.  They all tell a wonderful story performed by great actors and actresses.

I would argue however that "classics" are made all the time.  Each generation has its own revered films, films that tell their story with compassion, heart, humor and strength.  Each film has stellar performances by talented actors and will, I wager, stand the test of time. Some already have.  More modern classics include On the Waterfront, The Graduate, The Godfather, Five Easy Pieces, Easy Rider, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Saturday Night Fever and the Star Wars Trilogy, just to name a few (I'm sure many of you can add dozens more to that list).

However you define a classic, it's a good bet that film is close to your heart and one that you have enjoyed time and time again.  You can probably recite the dialogue and act out all the parts.

MoviesCapital is one of the best places to watch "classics" in the privacy of your own home with the people you love. You can do this easily by downloading "classics" right to your laptop or personal computer from a movie download site that you know and trust. Downloading to your laptop allows you to take that beloved film with you; you can even burn it to a CD once you've downloaded it onto your computer and watch it on any computer.  Take it to a friend's house and introduce him/her to that great classic movie.

To Burn or Not To Burn.....A CD

As I have written before, downloading movies to one's computer has become quite popular.  You can store as many movies as you like onto your computer's hard drive.  But for those of us who prefer a more tangible means of accessing our movies, burning CD's of your favorite movies might be the way to go.  Once you've downloaded the movie onto your hard drive from a reputable site (make sure you are doing this lawfully) , you now own it.  It is now yours.

You can now take that movie and burn it onto a CD and keep it where your store your DVDs.  That movie now becomes portable as you can take it with you and play it on your laptop.  Or you can connect your laptop to your TV and view your movie on your big screen TV.

And for those of you who are unfamiliar with burning CDs (no you're not setting the CD on fire, you're copying from your hard drive), just follow the instructions on your computer screen.  Or, like me, you can ask your kids or grandkids (once they are done rolling their eyes at you), they can show you how.  It is quite simple to do.

Always go to a reputable site to download your movies.  Violating copyright laws is illegal.  It's just not worth the risk.  Movies Capital is such a site and has a large selection of movies you can choose from.
